On December 1, 2023, with the endorsement of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the launch event of Sound of Land took place, marking the unveiling of the first regional electronic music platform in the Turkic world. This momentous occasion was an integral part of the Creative Week, a celebration uniting and showcasing creative industries. The primary objective behind creating this platform is to spotlight the shared heritage of Turkic culture through electronic dance music.
The electrifying night, held within the week's festivities in Baku, was filled with stars such as the internationally acclaimed DJ Burak Yeter from Turkey, DJ Pancho from Azerbaijan, DJ King Macarella from Uzbekistan, and DJ Nurboogie from Kazakhstan, all gracing the Sound of Land stage. The event kicked off with the melodic tunes of the renowned tar player, Ibrahim Babayev. Drawing an enthusiastic crowd of over 2,000 people, the night seamlessly blended the atmosphere of electro-music with the rich tapestry of the Turkic world.
Continuing the momentum, the talented young DJ Just Kama from Uzbekistan showcased his dynamic energy on December 2 at Unbar and Room, two of Baku's most popular venues. It is worth mentioning that a Sound of Land DJ school will be established to unearth budding talents.
Looking ahead, plans are underway to host the "Sound of the Land" festival in both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, further amplifying the cultural resonance of this groundbreaking initiative.
